Michael I. Ashe - Born in 1944, he has taught and designed programs and facilities for rock climbing, backpacking, spelunking, canoeing, bicycling, and other adventure type activities in a University setting, as a volunteer for Sierra II [a Virginia Beach Juvenile delinquency wilderness corrections program], on private contract for USN SEAL TEAM 4 and TEAM 6, and as one of the founders and owners of an Wilderness World, Ltd., an outfitting and guide company.

A past President, and a life member of the Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club, he was instrumental in designing and building the Mar Har trail in the Virginia mountains. As past president of both L’ Team Junque and then Tidewater Bicycle Association racing teams, he currently holds a Category 3 United States Cycling Federation license for bicycle racing on the track and road, and also a Category 3 license as an Official.

In 1967, he obtained his B.S. from Old Dominion College [University]. Followed by active duty in the US Navy, he obtained his Honorable Discharge USNR [SM3] in 1969. He subsequently joined and became a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America. After teaching high school and coaching their wrestling team, he attended and obtained his Law Degree from William and Mary College [Marshall - Wythe School of Law] in 1972.

· He is admitted to practice in all Virginia State and Federal Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.
